When my boss puts together a corporate event, it is usually a rather unique event. He has the standard dinners now and again, but he likes to do fun things for us too. The last event he threw for all his workers was a corporate shooting days in Bristol. We were not there all day, but we did have several hours of fun. We arrived at nine in the morning, and we had tea and coffee available straight away. Right before ten, we were able to meet our instructor. When I first moved to New Jersey, I fell in love with everything about it. Since my move here nearly eight years ago, there are only a few things that I have come to not like. One of them is Canada geese. I had no idea these birds were as big as they are. The first time I saw one in a parking lot close to my car, I nearly screamed. I purchased a large piece of property that I planned on building a house on. I guess you can say it is a heavily wooded area. I know it is going to be a lot of work preparing the land for the construction of my new home. I also know that this is not a job that I can handle on my own. One thing I think is really neat about Singapore is how the architecture itself has natural spaces built into it. Plus, they like to build things that are just pretty to look at. The newer buildings in Singapore have a visual appeal to them rather than them just being squarish towers that poke up from the ground into the sky. It is really cool to look up and see an area several stories high halfway up a building that has trees growing. My wife took me to a chiropractor in Salinas the other day when I woke up in the morning and suddenly couldn’t get out of bed. I mean that literally, too. I literally could not get out of bed. She was in the bathroom taking a shower while I grunted and strained to simply get myself up and out of bed. I couldn’t move and it was obvious that my old back problem and returned with a vengeance. I was always afraid to be outside in the sun without my skin being covered. I wanted to have a little more freedom to enjoy swimming, hiking and riding my bicycle. Golf would be more fun too if I was not wearing long sleeves. I decided to get my moles removed so I did not have to worry about them having sun exposure. I went to an aesthetic medical clinic in Singapore to have the procedure done. The doctor there was able to have all of the moles off in a few minutes. I had four that I waned removed. Corporate shooting days have been pretty popular at the local shooting area. Businesses will come there with their employees and have fun outings for team building. Some of the business owners have come up with an idea of having a competition between the businesses. They want to take the top shooters from each business and put them up against each other for a prize. To determine the to shooter, each business would have to go to the shooting area once for their own corporate day. I like the idea of businesses shooting against each other, and hope that I can make the team if the idea is finalized.

At the last shooting day that I went to, I did pretty well among the workers. I went from not being able to shoot at all because of bad aim, to being able to hit most of the clay pigeons that are shot into the air. We were looking for a unique way to have a family get-together during the holidays. We were discussing whose house we would all gather at when someone suggested we have a Christmas party in Bristol at the shooting school where we all go to shoot sporting clays. I thought that might be fun, so I looked into it. A shooting holiday party sounds fun. We are a competitive bunch, and an opportunity to bring out the shotguns and shoot some sporting clays seemed like a great time.
